INSPIRATION

The image of the pulley taking out the miners in the San Jose mine gave me ideas to put to canvas  in the next weeks ahead.  The light in the shaft below, the circular wheel, the strength of the iron pillars.  I was moved by watching the repeated mechanics of this machine bringing out human life.  The images of the mine workers and their families leads to an old African proverb:
Desert Starlight
"Let us take care of the children, for they have a long way to go.  Let us take care of the elders, for they have come a long way.  Let us take care of those in between, for they are doing the work. "
